Lude offline OC Newbie 11 Jahre dabei !	Hi, I've an Athlon 64 X 2 4000+ on a MSI K9N NEO v2 motherboard with 8Gb of ram. I've Win7 64bit sp1, disabling cool n' quiet from bios, I've seen, using CPUz, that speed core change. This is normal ? There's a way to fix it ? Thank you, Lude

Yes, Windows has an own CPU throttling option, which could be deactivated for overclocking, benchmarks, stress test, etc..

Open the power options in Windows 7 control panel, then click on the button:
Change advanced power settings (Admin rights necessary) -> Processor Power management -> change the Minimum processor state to 100%.
That's it

Thank you but I've already tested and it no works ( at least for me) If Cool n quiet is enable I can see "Minimum processor state", I've already set it to 100% without success. If coonl n quiet is disabled, "Minimum processor state" and "Maximum processor state" do not appears.

OK, if you've already adjusted the CPU FSB Frequency and CPU Ratio option in your BIOS manually, it should stay on a constant CPU frequency.
What is the lowest and highest frequency in CPU-Z and does it stay constantly on the maximum with full load (e.g. with prime95) ?
If it's not caused by a too high CPU temperature, I think you've installed another software for changing the P-States.
You can watch the frequency in your BIOS as well, to check if it's also throttling without operating system.

You can watch the frequency in your BIOS as well, to check if it's also throttling without operating system.

How can I check for a too high CPU temperature ?
Can cpu throttling be caused by cpu cooling fan ?

Lude offline OC Newbie 11 Jahre dabei !	Under bios there's no cpu frequency change, it remains fixed to 2101Mhz. CPU FSB frequency is set to 200.9 and multiplier to 10.5. The cpu fan speed change between 3068 and 3125. Under Win7 using CPUz core speed change between 994.93Mhz and 2088.99Mhz Multiplier goes from 5 to 10.5
