Bios is update.
I've try to downgraded two times (2.8v and 2.7v), no success.
This is a clean install on another hd!

I've update driver for my usb audio card( scarlett 2i2) and I've noticed crackling on sound, so I've investigated and I've sadly discovered what cpu throttling means.
With full cpu load there's no crackling.
I've contacted audio card driver developer but it is my fault.
I've tested audio card on another pc...no crackling :(

Where I can found AM2 socket pinout details ?
I've another Athlon64 X 2 to use but has  a broken pin and I'm too lazy to change it!

Thank you for your time.

It sounds that there's something wrong.
May be a BIOS update will help, did you already update to the latest BIOS version ?
Otherwise you could try to install a fresh Windows on another hard disk and test if this is working.

I'm running Prime95, cpu load is 100%, core speed change between 994.93 and 994.76.
CPU temperature is 66°

During full CPU load ?
Who high is the CPU temperature ?

Under bios there's no cpu frequency change, it remains fixed to 2101Mhz.
CPU FSB frequency is set to 200.9 and multiplier to 10.5.
The cpu fan speed change between 3068 and 3125.

Under Win7 using CPUz core speed change between 994.93Mhz and 2088.99Mhz
Multiplier goes from 5 to 10.5

sorry, I can't test it now, I'n not at home but I remember speed core lowering around 900.

You can download e.g. Hmonitor 4.5.4.1 to watch the CPU temperature in Windows.
What is the lowest and highest frequency in CPU-Z and does it stay constantly on the maximum frequency or does it lower the frequency at full load ?

You can watch the frequency in your BIOS as well, to check if it's also throttling without operating system.

Thank you for this hint!

How can I check for a too high CPU temperature ?
Can cpu throttling be caused by cpu cooling fan ?

Many thanks,
Lude

OK, if you've already adjusted the CPU FSB Frequency and CPU Ratio option in your BIOS manually, it should stay on a constant CPU frequency.
What is the lowest and highest frequency in CPU-Z and does it stay constantly on the maximum with full load (e.g. with prime95) ?
If it's not caused by a too high CPU temperature, I think you've installed another software for changing the P-States.
You can watch the frequency in your BIOS as well, to check if it's also throttling without operating system.

Thank you but I've already tested and it no works ( at least for me)

If Cool n quiet is enable I can see "Minimum processor state", I've already set it to 100% without success.
If coonl n quiet is disabled, "Minimum processor state" and "Maximum processor state" do not appears.

Welcome to the OCinside.de forum :)

Yes, Windows has an own CPU throttling option, which could be deactivated for overclocking, benchmarks, stress test, etc..

Open the power options in Windows 7 control panel, then click on the button:
Change advanced power settings (Admin rights necessary) -> Processor Power management -> change the Minimum processor state to 100%.
That's it :thumb:

Hi,

I've an Athlon 64 X 2 4000+ on a MSI K9N NEO v2 motherboard with 8Gb of ram.
I've Win7 64bit sp1, disabling cool n' quiet from bios, I've seen, using CPUz, that speed core change. This is normal ? There's a way to fix it ?

Thank you,

Lude
