3D-Grafikchip - Nvidia wird mit dem GeForce4 Ti4800 und Ti4800 SE zwei neue Grafikchips vorstellen. Dabei soll es nicht um zwei Neuentwicklungen handeln, sondern um einen GeForce4 Ti4600- und GeForce4 Ti4400-Chip mit AGP 8x-Interface. Ob auch die Taktfrequenzen angehoben wurden ist noch nicht bekannt. Allerdings basieren die Informationen noch auf Gerüchten und wurden von Nvidia noch nicht offiziell bestätigt. Mit hoher Sicherheit kann man ab davon ausgehen, dass der NV30 - oder auch GeForce5 genannt - nicht vor dem nächsten Jahr 2003 auf den Markt kommen wird.
There are really three derivatives of the NV28, one for each current member of the GeForce4 family. They are Ti4200-8X, Ti4800SE, and Ti4800. They replace current three the Ti4200, Ti4400, and Ti4600 respectively. There is really only one thing that differentiates the GeForce4 Ti4800 from the Ti4600 and all other members of the GeForce4 family, the addition of 8X AGP support compared to the Ti4600's 4X AGP standard. This is why some companies, such as MSI, have chosen to reserve the Ti4600 name but include a 8X postfix to alleviate confusion, while others will take nVidia's new dubbing. Although this doubles the bandwidth through the AGP bus from 1.1GB/s to 2.1 GB/s, today's graphics cards and games cannot take advantage of it, even the Radeon 9700. It will be interesting to see if 8X AGP actually makes much of a difference when the NV30 comes out.
The new names are a little bit misleading because some might expect the Ti4800SE to outperform the Ti4600 because of the higher number, but this is not the case. In fact, the SE suffix seems like it might stand for "Special Edition", but we don't know what it actually stands for, if anything. All we know is that the Ti4800 will outperform the Ti4800SE.

und 4800 se ist gleich einer 4400
die 4200'er haben einfach 8x stehen.
