Intel Pentium M

I have a Toshiba Tecra 9100 with a 1.8Ghz Pentium 4M that I want to
overclock it but nothing seems to work.
I tried Soft FSB but I don't know which PLL file it has and even went
as far as looking for a dead MoBo so i can manually look at the PLL.

I think the P4M can make 2.2Ghz or more but I am at a loss.
Is there ANY software or hardware modifications I can try?

Sincerely.

notebook-OC? sorry, but this doesn't make any sense.

furthermore (99% of all) notebooks don't have the features to overclock ...

I was able to overclock a Tecra 8000 Pentium II 266 to 320mhz
:thumb:

I used the Soft FSB, For the 9100 I still need the PLL chip info.

If any of you can get me THAT info, my problems are solved (?)

I've worked a lot with these notebooks, but I don't know the PLL IC of them.
So you have to open the notebook or try all PLLs of the program :blubb:
May be you're already able to see the PLL IC if you take off the keyboard strip, then srew off both screws of the keyboard and take it out.

i think what IVI means is, that notebook OC is alway more dangerous than on desktop computers.

notebooks are optimized for low temps and silent cooling and if you raise temps by overclocking it could be that your notebook is going to be damaged and maybe you loose your guarantee...

so think twice before doin' it...

Is there a PIN mod for P4-m 479 Sockets?
Is there a PIN mod Guide for P4-M 479 Sockets on OCinside?

I know the risks of OC'ing a laptop, I know the dangers of OC'ing
a laptop. I posted my sucess with OC'ing a Tecra 8000 to show
that it CAN be done. I know that I can buy a P4-m 2.2 or 2.4GHZ for
$40.00. That is not the point. I overclock so I can get more with what
I have. And I have a P4-m 1.8 GHZ that wants to run at 2.4ghz.

OCinside: I have not had time to open my Laptop and find out which
PLL chop I have. I'll have time in a week or so. i will contact you then.

Thanks for all of the help.

I tried to take off the keyboard. The keyboard strip was removed and
2 screws removed but the thing didn't want to come out and I wasn't
in the mood to force it out.

More when I find what is holding the center of the keyboard to the
computer. :noidea:

May be you have to push it a little bit down (away from the screen) to get the keyboard out of the chassis but it should be enough to push it only a little bit - be careful, it's a nice notebook ;)

Actually, that didn't work. (thanks anyhow)
I DID find the 3rd screw (insert joke here) which was from the bottom
right next to the memory access panel. (who knew?)

Only one chip was visible:

ALPS        3889
3DA3DT336B
222        TO2 (or T02)

Is this a PLL chip. (I'll be looking up info on google)

MP

P.S.

Nope, it's NOT a PLL chip (DAMN!).
Back to the drawing board.

A P-M with socket 479 is NO PENTIUM4!!!

A P4-M is a special version of P4 with lower voltage. The P-M has a completely different Core, mot L2 cache (1 oder 2MB), only 100MHz (the new one 133) FSB an so on .... ;)
