@Iznobad yes, it's more than easy with the Pin-Mod guide :)
But don't forget to connect the five L1 bridges first, if they aren't already connected yet.

Hi,

I have the same motherboard as you do. I have two Athlon XP Palominos same as you.

Right now I'm running FSB og 100 :(
I have to keep the CPU speed down otherwise they use too much power and then my machine reboots (my powersupply is too small.)

I want to run at FSB 133 or maybe 166 if possible.

On this site i found this brilliant guide/grpahics for how to set my multiplier manually.

https://www.ocinside.de/go_d.html?/html/workshop/pinmod/amd_pinmod_d.html

It uses a wire around the underside of some selected pins. Much easier than messing around with conductive paint. I cannot wait to try it out at home!

I will first try with the 5xFSB multiplier and then slowly increase my FSB in bios, until i get crashes or reboots. then hopefully I'll be running at 5x166 = 830 mhz. When that works, I'll try to up the multiplier. Remember FSB is more important than multiplier, since it affects everything and multiplier only affects the CPU

Hi

You should to close the L1 bridges.....because you have an "Palamino" - if you have an "T-bred" or "Barton" you dont must close this bridges.....

hi

another question

find this in your guide: at the end...

"Close all L1 bridges if you want to change the multiplier via BIOS or Jumper."

I can't do that....a7m266D,no bios option and no jumpers for multiplier!

"Otherway leave all L1 connections open."

So ?

Do i close the L1 or not ?

thanks...

Wasabi - great name - I know a really great advertisement video of wassup (Budweiser) :thumb:

But you need to connect the five L1 bridges of both CPUs first to UNLOCK the multiplier.
After this short mod it's possible to change the multi via BIOS, Pin-Mod, etc.
You'll find all necessary guides in the workshop section (english and german) :)

Use the "Pin Mod Instruction" from this Side. So my A7M266-D runs now at 16*141 MHz :)
