just an update.  i wasnt coping with the pin mod so went via the socket instead (MUCH easier!!!).  actually unlocking the chip proved difficult but i got it in the end.  currently running 2000+ at standard voltage and all is fine.  only problem is i now want to go higher but my mainboard has a faulty temp sensor so i'll have to get around that somehow to ensure my cpu's not gonna go up in smoke!  any ideas would be appreciated!

i have a palomino 2000+ @ 2200+ i had to put the Vcore to 1,85
(the max of my mainboard) or else it would go and hang all the time and when it gets real hot outside like now in holland 35+ C i can't even play games cause my temps get too high 40C mb and 60 cpu i have a zalman cooler chipset cooler and all that stuff, so if you do it Vcore up and buy some good cooling

1. use a thin wire from a speaker for example

2. it wont boot or with another multi

3. changing the multi should be enough (maybe look at the stepping of your cpu/is it a palomino or thoroughbred a/b)

3. ^^^

i would like a little help on this pin-mod please.  my motherboard has no overclocking options at all so i want to give it a try as it seems a more ideal method for me than painting etc.  i have a few questions though...

1)  what sort of wire do i use and of what thickness is recommended.

2) should a wire break will any damage result to my cpu or will it simply not boot.

3)  is it ok to just select the multiplier of the cpu with this method or do i also have to select the voltage as well for it to work.

4) i plan to run at 2000+ on stock voltage - what are my chances of this or will i definately have to bump up the voltage.

many thanks!
