I have looked at these guides and am gonna lock the multiplier with the wire method.

I have tried overclocking this before by raising FSB. I got it from 133MHz to about 145MHz which put the cpu to an athlon xp 2000+. The temp was steady at about 47degrees and never went over 50! It worked perfectly for everything but games - because FSB was too high for graphics card.

I dont really want to buy extra cooling, what would be a reasonable speed to aim for with my current fan.

Also the CPU runs @ 1.61V but I think it would need more if I went above xp 2000+. I cant change this in the bios either, how would I raise this slightly if I wanted.

The help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Hiya, just use the interactive XP painting guide or the new interactive Pin-Mod guide to increase your CPU multiplier

I have an athlon XP 1800+ (I have been told it is a tbred-B) on an MSI-6378 mobo.
I can overclock in the bios by increasing the bus speed but only goes from 133MHz to about 140MHz before crashing. There is no option in the bios to change multiplier nor is there a jumper.
Is there NE way I can change the multiplier setting?
PLS help, I have checked everywhere on the web but no luck!!
